Week 6

In class this week we discussed learning experience and it's  relationship with performance task. The learning experience tasks are to help strengthen understanding the content within the unit. It will better prepare your students for the performance task a form of summative assessment. This relates to the NCTCS in that "Teachers use a variety of methods to assess what each student has learned."  The learning experiences that teachers use are a series of formative assessments. As a teacher the activities I assign to students will give me an opportunity to see if they truly understand the content. If they do no understand the content then I have the opportunity to intervene and correct instruction. This clarification of instruction will then better prepare them for the performance task.

In my tweets of the week I tried to focus more on multimedia as a tool in the classroom.  My favorite article is "8 ways to help students watch video critically."  I think we've all been in this situation. It's almost summer your teacher throws on a hour long movie that you'll finish next class. You really intend to watch it but find yourself looking out the window zoning out. The article helps that from happening. I hope you enjoy it.
